DYNO results from today

Hey everyone,

I got a chance to Dyno my car today at Mustang Magic in LI. They were using Dynojet and ran my car on 4th gear. Since my car was a 2003 model I disabled the DSC like how it was posted on this board. Funny, the sports button couldn't be turned on when I completely shut off the DSC. Well here are the results:

DYNORUN #1 Max POWER= 345.2 Max TORQUE= 303.1 (????)
DYNORUN #2 Max POWER= 354.9 Max TORQUE= 310.2 (

????)

I'm going back in two weeks and seeing if changing out the velocity stacks will make a difference. My torque curve was all over the place. When I get the chance I'll scan the paper.

Question...are you suppose to run it with sports mode on and are you suppose to run it on 4th gear?

i would think you'd run in 5th gear, since that's 1:1 ratio, right? I don't think sport mode would make a difference in the numbers.

Just curious about what performance mods you have, and what happened between test 1 and 2 to make the difference?

Here are the list of mods starting from the intake out:

GruppeM intake
Dinan Air Flow Meter
Rennsport Velocity Stacks
Supersprint headers
Supersprint cats
3.45 differential
Kelleners Exhaust

I think the difference between the 1st run and the 2nd was the engine was cooler on the 2nd run. I do have the temperature relocation but the guy there said it was better due to a cooler engine. I think he also took it the second time to 7500 rpm.

My next DYNO will substitute the Rennsport Velocity Stacks with either the OEM parts or the Dinan Throttle Bodies and Stacks. I will also be taking out the cats. They are driving me crazy as in the amount of noise.

This was my first DYNO run so I don't know what gear I'm suppose to be in. Anyone else confirm 5th gear is the gear to use?

What software do you have allowing 7500rpm?

Thanks for your DYNO post. I just realise there is something really wrong with my torque. It's shape like a upside-down bell from 3500 to 5000rpm.

I have Powerchip in my car.

pardon my skepticism but I have seen some stock dyno pulls on this board where 340 rwhp was achieved. I realize that all cars are different, but are you happy with your numbers with all of your mods (especially the headers). Seems to me your numbers should be higher...

I'm not a happy camper, if that's what you wanted to know. I'm just trying to change my setup now for a better improvement on the next DYNO.

John...somethings really wrong if you've got headers and cats and are getting those numbers. I got 338 before the headers. Do you have the Powerchip ECU/DME programming? If not, you're running a mixture that's too lean and I suppose that could be a factor. Also, I believe that 4th is the correct gear.
