Re: UK: Tubi exhaust/AP Racing brakes

Nicebloke37 - no it definitely does not affect the overall warranty; I checked this with BMW UK before starting on my programme. What it does do however is invalidate the warranty on the parts you change........BMW fully understand that people upgrade their M Cars, and things like brakes and exhausts are not an issue for them at all. Changed induction systems and ECU changes are a different matter.

Howdy from down under Alan,

Congrats on joining the Tubi club.

You may want to check out our board Brake Specialist, Dave Zeckhausen. You might find some interesting reading on the correct way to bed brakes in.

Bed in proceedure

I have the Stoptech four wheel BBK. The HSV GTS here come with AP's, 6 pots up front and 4 potters in the rear.
They make pretty big claims about them, but that is to coverup ten years of producing vehicles that had no brakes. I'll have to jump in one to see if the new AP's will finally pull these brutes up.

Re: UK: Tubi exhaust/AP Racing brakes

MIB: thanks for that. I bedded them in before reading your post, roughly following your advice. The pedal is in fact a bit soft and there is probably not enough 'feel', but they work fine. I've just come back from a second 2,000 mile round trip to the South of France in it when the brakes got plenty of hard use on each run - and they're still very effective.

Hey Alan,

No problem. BTW, not one but 2 trips in the beast through the south of France! I believe according to the boards bylaws, you owe us quite a few pics.

Pictures? Will do when I eventually work out how to get my cameraphone to communicate with the PC. Life's a bit short!
