Post Los Angeles area Karting School BIG Fun

In Oxnard Ca Jim Hall runs a great Kart driving school I went again today with a friend for lapping practice and sat in on the Classroom part of the introductory course I had taken before. This is a LOT of fun and you feel like your are driving at the VERY edge. Tons of fun and you drive about 75 laps in (one speed) karts that do sixty mph on a tight short course, you really learn that the correct line is everything in going quickly. The instructors are very helpful and easy to talk with. Check it out www.jhrkart@west.net.

Another good source is KRC, www.kartracingco.com. They're located at Willow Springs and offer school, lapping days and a two-class racing series in 125 cc shifter karts. I was just up there again yesterday (seventh time since thanksgiving) and am suitably addicted. Good fun.

Jim Hall also has a shifter kart program @ the Oxnard track. Also an "Arrive & Drive" race series.

Have heard Jim Hall is a good school, also. Their shifter karts are 80cc Honda powered, I think. Have you tried them yet?

I have been to jhrkartracing two times, Day 1A/1B (2 half day programs in one day, 80-90 laps plus classroom lessons) and a 1/2 Day Lapping session (50-60 laps with one on one instructor input). The key to being quick is taking a smooth, steady and consistant line around the track. You drive about ten laps and then talk/wait/watch while others drive, then drive again. It is a lot of fun.
