Strange Sound

For the past few months I've noticed a "glug glug" sound coming from somewhere.
It seems to be happening most when the car is cold and the steering wheel is being turned. Searched the owner's manual for power steering fluid but could not find a thing.
Any ideas?

Re: Strange Sound

From your description, it is hard to say, of course. Bad control arms will start as a groan when turning and/or going over bumps. Mine started only when turning left. It will get progressively worse until it happens all the time. My X5 had to have them replaced at 8K miles, and it is common on the X5 for these to go bad.
