Rear-ended Beast

My Beast got rear-ended while waiting at a traffic light. Driver of the other car was an eighty year woman. Her front got damaged and she had the nerve to say the damage doen't look that bad on my Beast.

Re: Rear-ended Beast

"Doesn't Look that bad" ?????...crazy woman! Good luck with the repair, shouldn't be any contest in the insurance claim. Better get the exhaust system fully checked out for damage as well.

What colour is your car?.....the photo looks orange to me....tell me it's not ( I am very slightly colour blind so no offence intended )

Re: Rear-ended Beast

Don't feel bad at all--the same thing happened to me about two months ago. The good part in all of it is that my Eisenmann exhaust will be replaced by a Kelleners unit. If you find a body shop willing to work with you, you can get a nice exhaust in the process of repairing the damage. The stock muffler is something like $500/side (retail) anyway, so it doesn't end up being too much out of pocket.

Re: Rear-ended Beast

That will cost her insurance about $1000, assuming the exhaust and other non-cosmetic parts weren't damaged.

My M5 got rear-ended by a drunk pickup driver a year or two ago at a stop light. Luckily in my case the damage was limited to a lightly dented and scratched bumper cover, but it still cost about $800 to refinish it.

Re: Rear-ended Beast

When I got hit, it was sufficient enought to bend the exhaust completely toward the ground. In the days that followed, I would drive over speedbumps and out of driveways to a distinct metallic scraping sound.

In terms of the two exhausts, I really think they're the same thing. I just picked up my car today after two weeks in the shop, and I can't tell the difference aurally between the old Eisenmann 76mm RACE version and the new Kelleners 83mm sport exhaust.

The Kelleners is from Sam at Rennsport, whereas the Eisenmann was purchased from Bekkers.com a couple years ago. Both were supposed to be the "loudest" available, but I'm thinking that it might need an X-pipe. The only difference I can definitely tell is the size of the tips. 83mm=
It looks much better to me. I'll take a close-up later to show you all if interested.

Eddie.

Re: Rear-ended Beast

That's when they should revoke her license. Driving ability testing as we age is long overdue - maybe through in an intelligence test too!

Sorry to hear about the beast. It will be repaired and be just as fun! Mine had deer damage in November. Nick
