Beast vs 540 Suspension...

Howdy Suspension Gurus.

As I am getting ACS DFC shortly, I will have some spare M5 Stock Suspension, (Coils and Springs)

What I was wondering is, Will it fit on a 540?

I'm not going to sell it, I 'm going to give it away.

Giving it away sounds better than throwing it away.

If it won't fit a 540, it goes in the bin.

I had a 540 prior to my beast, and sold it to a now board member Chunky. He has since put a 125 shot of NOS on Emma.

If the M5 springs and coils are better than 540 ones, then he can have them if he wishes.

Does anyone know the different spring rates of 540 vs Beast. Or is it a bad idea to do it?

TIA.

Thanks Young,

Yes you could of had it. But you don't need it now with ACS.

I'm trying to upload a pic of my Genuine ACS Sway bars, but it won't upload. Some error creating the watermark.
Oh well I hosted it elsewhere, its instant.

Here you have it in RED and White. The real deal.

Hey Young,

I thought you might. I think it was you that recommended them to me.

I just wanted to post the pic, as a lot of members hadn'tr seen ACS Schnitzer ones before.

I don't think any one really knows if they are the same spec as the Eibach ones of not?

I don't think it is something either company would care to disclose. Anyway I am more than pleased with them and they should compliment the DFC.

Re: Beast vs 540 Suspension...

In recent discussions with Westcoast motorsport I was told that Eibach does not list a sway Bar for the M5 but rather the 540I. The ACS bars are the same part number for the 540I and the M5. My suspision is that the Eibach bars are identical to the ACS. Does anyone know for sure?

Hey Mark, just wanted to extend my congrats on the DFC. Can't wait to hear the report and of course any pics you care to share. Just make sure you are no where near Yoda during surgery.

Regards,

Terk.

Hey T-Man,

ooohhhh the surgery. I'm trying not to think about that part.

I'll just keep focusing on the after effects, of awesome handling.

Also 2 days without Yoda, I'll be climbing the walls.

I think I'd best go for another drive right now.

Mark,

If you weren't so d#mn far away I'd offer you my beast to keep your mind off things but considering we have just been gifted with a pile of that white frozen moisture (that stuff you've never seen) and it's near 0 degress F right now, my beast is grounded. Hang in there mate, I'm sure the wait will be well worth it.

Regards,

T-Man.

BTW, saw the Holden Monaro GTO thingy at the Detroit autoshow yesterday. Kinda like Mrs MIB's more.

Short Answer is - YES they will

HOWEVER, I believe that the suspension wil raise the 540 a bit... there have been discussion about this and why

- some have suspected that the bump stops are higher in the M5 and will cause the suspension of the 540 to raise a bit... others have said that the weight difference is the reason.

- If it were just the difference between the spring weights... I would say that they would "fit" and make it tighter in the cornering
