Post I finally found 6th gear this weekend! :-)

I took a trip to San Antonio this weekend to meet some colleagues at the Westin Riverwalk... and guess what, I actually used 6th gear most of the trip, going and coming back. I averaged around 18.6 mpg with an average speed of 85 mph. Of course, whenever possible 6th gear took me to 120 and beyond ratherly effortlessly! - purely by accident of course? Man, there were alot of smokies running on I-10, so I couldn't really have ALOT of fun??? The Valentine One got a real workout!

Now I know how you guys make 18+ MPG?! All you have to do is use 6th gear.

BTW: I am nearing my one year anniversary with this car and it still amazes me EVERY time I drive it!!!! What a machine!!

Greg,

There was a beautiful 2001 996TT (dark blue) at the Westin in San Antonio when I arrived! Man, what a looker!! Of course, the BEAST looked rather well herself!

Nice to get it out and let it stretch it's legs huh? You drop the Beast off at the "doctor" on the 16th right? Were the roads wide open to push the top speed?

Got the re-finished wheels back yesterday as well as the Kumhos. The Beast has new shoes

Howzit goin? Get your new toy yet? Welcome to the board!

So, I suppose you are going to be keeping a watch on Tim's activities on this board now, huh? Wanna see for yourself what all the hype is about?

Pls post pics of your toy when available? And be sure to watch out for the "cones" on the freeway!

Tim,

It was real nice to get out and have a little fun, although law enforcement saw to it that I didn't get out of control... I was fortunate however to NOT come home with a pink slip of paper with my license number on it!

The BEAST goes into the body shop next Monday for the nose job. I expect it will be there from one to two weeks or so. I told them not to rush it since I obviously want the best job possible!

Please post pics of your BEAST with the new rims and rubber.

later..

Andy-
I have to agree. Tonight I came up on a perfect new 996TT, dark blue. It was absolutely stunning (especially from the rear). It moved me. No kidding.

Funny how a lot of things worth looking at are particularly alluring from the rear, eh?

I know what you're saying Dave. Does anyone know what the automotive equivalent is for a T-man though. LOL
