Question for anyone with knowledge on car's DME software programing..........

Hi Guys, Im writing this here, since many of you seem to have a high level of technical knowledge & experience.
Aside from My 2003 M5, I also have a 2000 model ///M 540ia sport. Costemically, it looks just like the 540i being sold now, with the M5 trimmings.
Anyway, I had a problem with this car. The dealer told me that it was not a big problem, but only a DME programming issue. So the BMW technician reprogramed the car with the newest/latest DME software.
When they did this, it wiped away my Dinan software.
I drove the car home from the dealer and couldn't believe how much pull the car had! It was stronger than before, even with the Dinan stage 2 engine software. I am absolutely certain it isn't my imagination. I want to be clear and let you know that the issue with the car, had nothing to do with lack of power or the motor feeling weak. The issue was, at times the key wouldn't start the engine, when turning the key over. A second try would start the car's motor. So, this issue has nothing to do with the mysterious added power to the car.
so my question is, Is it possible that the BMW technician loaded my 2000 540 with the DME software used for a 2003 540, which supposedely has 9-10 extra horse power, thus making my 2000 model 540 stronger than its original configuration?
Also, should I have my Dinan dealer re-install the Dinan software or simply leave it as is????
Thanks for your reply & advise.
Robert

The 540 series model has been pretty good the last few years and I don't think the horsepower increase for the last model years was connected only to software upgrades.
If you are happy with the current results why over write it with the Diana?
If the original problem was with the DME and you had Diana then how can you be certain it won't re-appear?
