Anyone else in here in Texas apply for personalized plates for their beast? I sent in my request to the Texas DOT. I made a long list assuming that there was no way I could have any of my first choices. To my amazement I was given my first choice "M5."
what was the procedure? I'm picking up my Beast here in Dallas in a couple of weeks and and interested in personalized plates, although I have only one choice. How can I find out if it's available without going to the DOT office?
Too bad you're not in California. DMV here has a site you can search for your desired combo: http://plates.ca.gov/search/ Then again, at least the lights stay on in Texas! Our utility today filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy!
Bryan,
Unfortunately in Texas there is no way to know if a plate is available unless you actually send in the application. I've even tried calling them on the phone, no luck, they won't tell you. You can however download the Adobe Acrobat file of the application. Here is the link:
Andy,
That's pretty cool. I'm sure that I called the number you're referring to and they refused to do it for me. It's the number on the bottom of the application that I just posted the link to. I'm sure it just depends on who you manage to get on the phone. BTW, you still want to get together sometime? I'd like to see your car. If you're going to be in the Galleria area tonight, give me a call. I believe I emailed you my phone number.
