Sport vs. Exclusive trim

I'm thinking about getting an M5 sometime this summer. Can I get some opinions on the sport aluminum trim vs exclusive trim? Also, some advice on the leather. Thanks.

Welcome to the board!!!!! I'm a "short-timer"---counting the days to delivery--- May 22. As far as interior trim, I guess it's a matter of wanting a "sports car", or a "luxury car"---I picked the aluminum, and my upcoming vehicle is LeMans Blue/LeMans Blue---sports seats---aggressive look---it's just personal taste, and there is no wrong or right.

Good luck w/your choice!!!

I'd order the M5 with the sport trim because it suits the M5's character. The M5 is a supercar. The wood and leather trim of the exclusive trim looks like it belongs in a 7 Series not a car bearing the M logo.

It's all a personal choice. I have the sport trim (LeMans Blue inserts in the seats) but with wood rather than aluminum accents. The aluminum I thought was too cold looking. So if you can't decide, you can do what I did and almost have both!

Just to add the other side of the coin - I shelled out the extra on luxury interior.

I don't believe the car is a sports car - the idea behind the M5 has always been the wolf in sheeps clothing. I personally wanted to extend that idea to the interior as well.

Resale - who knows what the impact will be - but I question whether the interior of the sports will stay fashionable for as long as the exclusive look.

However, this is all personal taste - do you want the car to say "I'm different", or leave it to your right foot to prove it.

I personally like the sportier look of the sport trim. I consider the M5 a sports car that can carry the family more than a performance luxury car. The wood is not exactly nuetral in color - more of a red-ish or orange-ish tint. I couln't see it looking good in a LeMans blue interior, but it looks great in a black interior.

In summary: Listen to Aces - he be da man!

My vote is for the wood trim. It looks great in my jet black on black beast. After all, it IS a luxury car, not a sports car. It just happens to be a high performance luxury car.

Great Thread,

Welcome aboard & good luck with whatever you choose. I think it all boils down to personal taste, the color you choose to paint your beast, & the color of leather you select.

I like both , but the cracking & peeling stories I have heard of w/ the titanium are kinda scary.

What color are you selecting ?

If you select:
Imola/Imola Sportive
Lemans/Lemans Sportive

I would obviously go with titanium.

But if you selected
Athracite/Caramel Lux, the wood would be much more suitable.

Its all about how aggressive you want to take it. I personally opt for stealth.
