Absolute must read: ALL BMW technical documentation ONLINE!

All TIS, training manuals, complete OBD codes, wiring diagrams, the works

www.bmwtis.com

US$ 20 for 24h access

Highly recommended! Probably the best stuff I ever found on the net, except for bmwm5.com.

IMHO Just the E39 M5 technical training file alone, which on 100 pages in great detail describes the engine and engine electronics, well justifies the cost.

BTW this is a legit site run by BMW NA for the benefit of independent repair shops. Thank you BMW NA!

Donīt even bother to try sharing passwords - if you access with the same password from two different computers at the same time, the account is locked.

Does it also contain info on older models (E36 M3)? And does it allow you to save the info?

It sounds like gem!

Regards,

Gerrit?

I didnīt look for E36 M3, but the site has all of TIS, so it should be there.

The site switches off the right-button pop-up menu in IE, so you canīt right click to save, but I had no difficulty saving documents from within Acrobat within IE.
To save time I switched off the "Open in Web Browser Window" option in Acrobat, so I got a "Save to disk" dialogue pop-up whenever I clicked on a PDF link.

I found several pieces of info in there, which I would gladly have paid US$ 20 each for.

Would I have paid 1k? No. Would I have paid 100? Yes.

Jim,

I too hade some timeout problems when opening the 15 MB E39 M5 engine electronics file in Acrobat directly from the site.

The procedure I described above fixed it. Better give it a try, just in case
they donīt fix whatever is wrong with the site before the password time is up.

Will give it a try - I'm actually receiving Oracle database errors - like there is a permissions issue on the server to get into the information - like non-member stuff....

Can you try to see if you have access to the Manuals from E34?

Never heard back from the site - if anyone else signs up can you check to see if you can get into the technical manual section for "Manuals from E36" - I am able to get in the section above "Manuals to E36" without issue.
