"CD ERROR" and 16k gremlins

There's got to be a gremiln (or a family of them) in my beast
I've been putting more miles on the M these days and had an interesting set of events occur right when I flipped from 15999 to 16k miles!

First issue was the CD player stopped playing audio and a CD ERROR message is displayed in the center of the screen - the fix is that they are placing my CD Changer (should have it installed this Friday) - haven't seen a post on this on the board.

Second issue was the front right turn signal went out (but it wasn't the bulb) - found out that the light burns so hot that the bulb and the socket fuse - the fix was to replace the entire assembly and insert a new bulb.

Third issue was the mirrors stopped flipping up/down and the pivot down on the right side stopped working - the fix is that they're going to replace the right side mirror and motor assembly on Friday.

Forth issue was the hand brake finally stopped holding the car - they tightened it at each wheel as the standard adjustment point (assuming at the hand brake assembly) had no effect.

Fifth issue was scraping from the rear right wheel when the car is cold - once it warms up the scraping stops - no trouble found on this one - still have to watch this - haven't found anything on the board about this either.

Sixth issue was I asked them to upgrade the software to V22 - well at least they got it to 17! Going to do it myself I guess....

Just thought I'd share the comedy of making it to 16k miles on my '01 E39 M5.

JimC

P.S. this was nothing compared to the lady next to me bringing in her new 7-series with a 3 (yellow legal size) page list of issues!!

Everything happened within 3 days of flipping over 16k!
It was so odd that it was funny after a while!

Jim:

I believe that the v22 NAV upgrade is for those that have DVD

based Nav systems.

Is your NAV System DVD based or CD based?

Actually that's incorrect. It's for anyone that has the Mark III system (which has a female voice and is CD based) or those with the Mark IV (DVD based) system. It would work regardless of it being either one.

JimC, I'll get you what you need right away! I can't believe that you had all these problems all at once! It sounds like your car decided to conspire against you! Nothing of the sort has happened to mine yet! *knocking on wood* I've got 19,875 miles on her and still going strong! It's hard driving her as much as I'd like especially when having 2 other cars/trucks!
