Okay, so what's the deal w/ Lidatek right now??

I've been away from this board for a while. I was in the original Lidatek group buy but never got my order from Lidatek. Of course that was 2 years ago.

Fast forward 2 years later, 2 weeks ago, we were traveling back from Eugene on the I-5. Knowing that the piss-poor county of Josephine recently DOUBLED it traffic fines to raise revenue, I was using this Mini-S as a "rabbit". After a short climb we started to decent on this hill, and my V1 just went haywired w/ laser siren. I looked thru my rear view mirror, and saw the Oregon's finest hurried into his car and accerelated w/ a trail of dust. Wife and i looked at each other and figured "... It can't be me!!.. we're going that fast.."

The Tropper pulled next to me and pointed to me (so what does that mean? ) and kept on going at full speed to go after the Mini-S.

He pulled the mini off the next exit, and I looked at them but kept on going (did NOT exit). so next thing I know, I see the State Trooper reenters the I-5 and chased my ***** down and ticketed me for a lidar speed of 79 at 65.

Now on my priority list: Get some Lidatek. So what is the latest deal/ group buy on this thing?? Can some one fill me in?? If I have to, I will start a group buy.

On a side note, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Derek Sadowski and his lovely wife Megan while we were in Salem. Derek took us to great restaurant for dinner and gave us the guided tour of Salem and vicinity. Which we are greatful for and look forward to play host when they are in town.

Bee!

so now you have a Mini S too? Or is this a "borrowed" car that you just happened to be driving? Inquiring minds wanna know!

Why? Because I happen to have a Mini S too and I also happened to have gotten a ticket in the Mini S a few months ago too! I was not lasered though but radared instead. So Lidatek wouldn't have done me any good. I still haven't gotten the original LE-20's installed too! It's still sitting in the boxes. One of these days, I'll get them installed.

As far as I know, the group buy seems to have dissapated since it didn't accumulate as many interested buyers as the first group buy. That's the impression that I've gotten thus so far. Maybe you could drum up some interest again. God knows you could do that with your fireworks!

On another matter, I was busted by a local cop in a manner somewhat akin to what you experinced but on a local "twisty" road as opposed to the freeway. He "busted" me.

Jason,
No...no.. I do not own a Mini-S, What I was saying is that I was tailing a Mini on the I5 using the Mini as a "rabbit" (i.e. he can get the ticket, and set off police Radar:p ).

Hey!! Check you PM, I have a good friend of mine, and active BMW enthusiat (a fellow BMW E39 owner) in the Seattle police dept. I am gonna put you in touch w/. ***cough***friend of mine, friend of "OURS":p

Yeah, plz tell me what you have now from LidarTek. The LE-30?? and what is it?? and why its better than the LE20

Thnx buddy,

beewang

bee,

Oops! I guess the way you worded it, I thought you were using his "car" as a "rabbit" as in driving the Mini and using it as your "rabbit." I think I was stumbling all over myself reading that.

In any case, I don't know too much about the LE-30 except that it's going to replace the LE-20. There's also supposedly a trade-up program where you can trade in your LE-20 for the LE-30 and get a discount. You mentioned that you were lasered by Oregon's finest. Does this mean that the LE-20 didn't work for you? Or does this mean that you're also like me and haven't gotten around to putting it in.

Dude!! What's w/ ya reading my post halfa$$ly??:p To answer your question, you also missed this part: "...I was in the original Lidatek group buy but never got my order from Lidatek. Of course that was 2 years ago. .."

My order never went thru (they kept on losing my order after repeated calls , email and faxes) Since I was not in a hurry, I did not chase them down).

capische'??

Hey Bee,

I'm Hip buddy.

I have been holding off, waiting for over 3 months now for the release of the LE:30.

I'll be in the states at the end of this week. If the LE;30 is out, I'll grab one whilst I'm there. If not, then I'll jump on your Group Buy.

I don't want to wait too long as I want to install my V-1 and Beastpower rear view mirror with the Lidatek all at the same time.

I want Full stealth protection. At the moment I am unprotected.

Okay, I am starting this new 2003 Novemeber Lidatek group buy deal. I will conatct Lidatek tomorrow and ask for the same deal as we had previously (1/3 off w/ 50 plus units) I am sure they will go for it , so here is what i need form you:

Your (real) Name and your email addy.

That is all we need, as long as we have enough people for 50 units, i am sure its a done deal.

So let's go, MIB shall I put you down for 1 unit?

beewang, I have to inform you that group buys from non-sponsors is not OK from a month ago.

Although I got the word from Lidatek that they will be sponsors when the LE-30 is out so then it won't be a problem. I am not sure though if they have the LE-30 out yet, their website does not seem to include any info on the new model

If its not out yet, can you ask them details about when they expect and what they would do for someone if they bought an LE 20 Now or previously?

Regards Mark J.
