With this car. I've had my '00 Carbon Black beast for 10 days now. Something about being out at night - not sure exactly what it is....
I stopped by the pizza joint to see my old softball team tonight after their game. I think I had 2.5 beers. So did my buddy Dan. But we had some food to balance it, so likely not much if any past the tiny limit in this state. Anyway, he wanted to drive the car - so we took it out for a serious jaunt - he was flat amazed by the engine and handling. He drives a GS400 with some mods - exhaust, intake, wheels, shocks, sway bars maybe - not sure what all. It's a decent car. But boy, was he like a kid in a candy store in the M5, and he wasn't going easy either - it was quite a ride for the passenger... :-0
Afterward he left and I followed him and he decides to jam it - what am I to do but follow? We are blasting down Yerba Buena at close to a buck with a mercedes sedan playing along... Make the turn onto San Felipe at full clip - I'm in a bit of a 4-wheel drift (traction control - OFF thanks) around the hairpin (this beast is no M3) then jamming full throttle up the hill towards our neighborhood - I catch him like he was barely in it at all and stay right on his tail rather than pass. I glanced down and saw 100 or some silly thing like that on the speedo, about half what it reads to.... When we turn into our 'hood we mellow out - not going to race on the streets with houses mind you. I pull up to him and he's laughing saying - "there is nothing quite like going balls out and having a car catch up to you like you are barely standing still". heh.
I really need to get the V1 installed.
And brush up my contacts in the legal profession.....
Or stop going out at night maybe.....
