Goodbye to a friend.

In a fit of uncertainty over the look of the new 5er and the desire to preserve some automotive equity in the meantime, I sold my M5 and acquired a new 996 TT. I may wander back to this side of the tracks when the M5 (or M6?) materializes...we'll see. However, I LOVE the 996 TT (Arctic Silver on Grey with Aero Kit). It goes like stink, handles wonderfully and turns heads like you wouldn't believe.

My M5 was dealer transferred to Atlanta by Hendrick Imports in Charlotte, NC. It will be a wonderful purchase for some lucky buyer...Imola Red over Caramel, TV box with in motion mod, Voice recognition module, 17,000 miles. Sound familiar to anyone? Just wondering.

I will continue to watch and read the board. See you around!

Enjoy your 911 TT....if you have to trade in the M5, that is a nice alternative.

Thanks for the kudos. I'm like a kid on the day after Christmas with his new bike. Can't wait to go to work, can't wait to come home, can't wait for Sunday morning, etc. The k1200RS bike is collecting cobwebs (for now).

Help me....what are the most effective power mods for t he money?

rad22:

The Turbo is not cheap to mod but the amount of power you can get out of the car is amazing compared to the M5. First off, get a short shifter (B&M or Techart), the throw on the 996tt is much too long for my tastes. Another great option if you have a regular turbo is the Upsolute Chip. For $500 you will get about 100bhp I beleive. If you have the X50 package, go for the GIAC unit. A bit more expensive but delivers a lot of power. Other mods that may want to be considered are a suspension, exhaust, and diverter valves. Have fun in your 996tt and try not to think how much a ticket would cost at the speed you will be traveling when having fun .
