Hopefully it's only seen here in the States, but I've now twice seen a TV ad for the X5 that has four little angels, each flying next to a wheel as it navigates down a rad with sweeping turns, somehow reinforcing the idea that the BMW will Protect you...eew!
Both my wife and I have to avert our eyes. It's really bad.

It's just there to show you how X-drive act's like 4 little ones keeping you safe. I dont care about the religious context, as I am not religious, but I don't think it's something that makes BMW look bad.
My personal favorite awd commercial is the VW one where the camera is focused on a guy, with the back ground spinning around. His little monolouge is about him asking himself if he remembers how the 4Motion system works in a VW. Funny stuff.
wasn't the religious connotation at all that's the issue. Just these overly angelic, little angels, just seem counter to the normal performance car ad.
Generally BMW ads, and Porsche for that matter, appeal to the people who like cars and performance. This one seemed out of place for BMW.
I'll stop ranting now...

OK, on the same page here. Sorry about that, and yes, I do understand where you are coming from. I guess I just see it as a way of simply stating that there is a system watching over you, and you will be safe. I personally think an X5 driving that same road with better camera angles and a higher speed while still driving over mud, ice, water, etc while staying in control would send a better message.
