Engine trouble? Feels like running on 6 cyls

Over the last couple of weeks- on and off, sometimes when driving and sometimes when starting the engine, immediately when the accelerator is pushed, the car feels like is running on 6 cylinders. The exhaust note changes almost to a Harley and it takes a full push of the accelerator all the way down until it stops to get the car moving.

The performance is almost like when the redline is reached and the engine goes into safe mode. It does not help to stop and let the engine cool.

In addition when starting the engine (cool or hot) the engine sounds like having trouble turning and it takes at lest two starting tries to get the engine going (battery is fully charged and charging well).

Has anyone experienced this? What was the fix?

I have a call into BMW and the dealer will take a look next Wednesday.

        Thank you.

        couple of simple checks...

I would guess it was a fouled/end of life spark plug or a blocked injector or two... Thats the first thing to check...it gets more expensive after that....

        Alexhp,

The spark plugs were changed 4 months ago. It is still possible, will check them before taking it in. The car has full warranty until 100 k - we will see.
