MY M5 HAS LANDED @ CHARLESTON !

The "Tellus", after dodging icebergs and submarines for 15 days, has deposited my M5 on US soil!

E-mail from Charlie at Nashville says they expect it middle of next week, 1 day of detailing and then shipped here. So I'm estimating 2 weeks for the Beast to get to my garage....

Will keep you posted!

Great news, Alan. Mine is supposed to be on the Tellus too. BMWUSA website still shows it as "en route" though.

I was told to expect 10 to 14 days for the car to arrive at the dealership in Austin after the Tellus docks.

Mark,

Welcome to the board! I noticed that this is your first post, have you been reading for a while prior to joining? There is a lot of good information here, along with friendly knowledgeable enthusiasts.

The Owners Board was ok, but my best information came from my sales rep. Have you checked out the thread "Order/Production Summary"? If you want to share any info re your personal experience, you could do it there. A lot of folks from the Spring 2001 group have participated. If you decide to do so only post information that you are comfortable with, but I would like to hear the specs on your car! Keep us posted.

Regards.....

Alan,
Yes, I've been reading the list for quite awhile. I got on the M5 waiting list here in Austin back in August of '99, yep, 19 month wait. Looks like it's down to about 2 weeks now.

I have a '99 540i 6-speed and am looking forward to trading it in for the beast. I ordered black/black/luxury, same as I have with the 540i. Probably a stupid choice for Texas, but it looks great for the first hour after the car is washed.

Adam,

Thanks for the thought...I'm a little concerned though, based on the time of you post was it about 4:00 AM there ? If so are you up REAL early or out REAL late????

Keep us posted when you get your Beast...I might have mine in less than 2 weeks.

Take care....

Great News Alan! Lucky for you the weather is warmer - now when your car arrives you won't get too cold sleeping in the garage! Just kidding! This is worse than waiting for a child!

Robert : Thanks! My cot and thermal underwear are ready for anything Wotan (German equivalent of Odin - I think) can throw at me! I'm hoping the green grass doesn't go away before I get my Ferrari back, I think it would make a nice contrast for some decent photos!

Mattar : Me in the seat and don't forget my check in their Bank (OUCH!)

Max : Unfortunately I can't take any time off to do that, it's my busy season at work. Thanks for the thought anyway. Will try to make the Driving Experience though!

Take care guys...
