Manufacturing CSL Style Trunk Lid for E39, other BMW parts.

After looking all through forums and endless hours searching for a CSL style trunk for the E39. I have taken it upon myself to bring this back to the market. I have quite the experience working with overseas manufactures and will be able to source the parts easily. As of now I have a fiberglass manufacture. I am working on a carbon fiber contact now.

I want to start of with the e39CSL full trunk first, but I want to expand into other models.

I am very busy with work and travel a lot, often overseas. But my goal is to provide enthusiasts with those parts that are hard to find, for all BMW models. Expanding into other car brands if things work out well.

I'd like to get an idea of how many people would be interested in the full CSL trunk lid for the E39 as I will only do it if there is a realistic demand.
Also, if you guys can list any other parts, regardless of BMW model.

Thanks guys! I look forward to seeing your responses.

I think there'd be a lot more interest in Vorsteiner / CA style CF hoods, and I'd be on that list.

Power dome, no vents/slats

Absolutely... a CSL trunk does not flow with the sedan body style... maybe a milder "swoop"? I had a real one on my s/c'd E46M3 was perfect as that's the car it was designed for...

EDIT: Never got that phone call btw

It might be more expected on an M3, but I'd say it looks pretty good here...this is Peter's (herrubermensch) car, not mine, btw.

CA in England made one a few years ago. As Walter said above the CSL style doesn't flow very well with the sedan body style. I bought one but removed it quickly. Made the car look really ricey.
The Vorsteiner Hood looks better but... (BTW my car has one).

This one has a nice and subtle lip I think it would go well CSL-style Carbon Fiber Trunk Lid for 1997-2003 BMW E39 (U.S. plate)

I've seen other ones and the lip is too big it doesn't look like it fits but it seems as though this one isn't too bad imo. The price is pretty up there however I'm not sure if that is considered average, low, or high just my opinion.

Yes, when I saw the thread title, I was sure this had been done before. Not my cup of tea TBH, but I'm sure some would go for it.

2001 E39 M5 : Silverstone Blue, 19" Breyton Spirits (horribly rashed...Genuine BBS LM's to go on), Philips Silverline Indicator Bulbs, Intravee II and Alpine KCA-420i (in a box in the house) and 160GB iPod Classic , Evolve headers and race cats to go on, otherwise standard at the mo...

"I look at it like this. Owning an M5 is kind of like dating a slamming hot big-t...ed blonde, who is a pain in the *****, drains your cash, but screws like there's no tomorrow. Owning a Honda Civic or the like, is akin to dating a girl who is fat, ugly, smells a bit where she shouldn't, is a cheap date and doesn't screw at all (you don't mind). So yeah, I'll take the blonde." (Courtsey of Jetpilot718)

The thread of my car and it's progression to mechanical perfection... : http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39...ry-thread.html if I ever get around to anything...

You can can buy the CSL trunk from boardsponsor Schmiedmann new in fiber glass and CF

Schmiedmann - Varusteet/styling - ulkopuoli - BMW E39 - Uudet osat - sivu 14

Don't get me wrong,I like your ideas.
But the question is if it makes financially sense to do it.

Very limited production units and ready available.

There is a high demand on the Vorsteiner hoods/bonnets,as you have seen already in this thread.

And this is something that would sell good for sure!
