Im having the TECHNIK (EIBACH) sway bars installed today.....

Hi Guys,
The car's at the dealer, having the EIBACH front & rear sway bars installed, along with the BEASTPOWER sway bar brackets.
The Eibach sway bars are sold under the brand name of TECHNIK, which is part of RENNSPORT of California. I purchased the sway bars from "Sam" very nice person to deal with, when doing a mail order purchase. These sway bars are exactly the same as the ACS sway bars, which are twice the price of the EIBACH brand name. Im glad I took this route for the sway bars.
The only thing guys, is that I realized today that this sway bar upgrade/mod winds up costing the customer a "G" note, when all is said and done! Lets break it down,
1. EIBACH sway bars $425.00 (includes shipping cost)
2. BEASTPOWER sway bar brackets $230.00 (includes shipping)
3. installation cost, 4 Hours @ $100.00 Hr = $400.00
Grand total is $1055.00 !!!!!!!!!!

Now my point and question is, for getting an additional 1mm increase in size, for both front and rear sway bars, is it worth spend approx. a grand for this upgrade????
Yes, I did it and I will evaluate the upgrade but I just went through the motions of buying the parts and doing the install job at the dealer, before realizing what I was actually getting (an additional 1mm size increase) for the amount of monies paid.
Yea, Im saying this at the risk of making myself sound stupid, but I honestly wanted to pose the above question of, is it really worth the money? Is this really a cost effective mod?
Your thoughts and comments are welcome.
Thanks Guys!
Robert

I just installed the same Sway Bars myself, and I noticed a difference right away! It turns a luxury car ride and steering, into an accurate steering and fun to drive car. When I turn there is no lag time. This would always make getting close to the curb sometimes difficult.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------> Now! when I go into a turn i know exactly where my car is and how far away i am from curb. The car feels more in control without giving up any ride quality. It does exactly what it says it does... Removes Sway... and together with the larger size and poly bushes, it works.

I actually think that i will leave the suspension the way it is! It handles almost like my old 1995 e36 M3. I like it a lot and it was exactly what i was looking for.

I used Dave Zechausens instructions, and i did the install in about 7 hours for the front. It is really a job!

interesting...several questions

1) how much harsher is the ride?
2) how do these sway bars compare with dinans rear only sway bar setup?
3) are these sway bars designed to be used with stock suspension/coilovers/stiffer springs? or does this matter at all?

thanks in advance!

Hey Rob,

Hell YES it is worth the expense. It will be the very first Mod I do from now on. I totally agree with Ocean on the improvement of steering.

I am so impressed with it, there is no longer an urgency to change the suspension. It feels great now.

Absoloutly perfect fro the street. There is no more harshness added to the ride, that is governed by springs and shocks.

TRI, I'll be intersted in your comment as you did the DFC First., you would have already taken a fair bit of sway out. You still should notice a difference thow. LOL on the $800 I hear you loud and clear on that. It sounds like such a cheap MOD to us, in comparison to other ones.

ERNIE,

AS it is the front sway that does the majority of the work, (Like the front brakes) doing the Front and rear like this will mop the floor with the Just Dinan Rear. That is not degrading Dinan, its just that no way can just a rear sway upgrade, come even close to an upgrade of both.

Thats like saying upgrade only your rear brakes, and will it compare to upgrade the front. NO-WAY. Do both front and back for balance.

The Dinan would be sweet if accompanied by the Front ACS. I'm sure the adjustment of that rear Dinan one will be considerably different when Stock front is on Vs ACS Front.

Rob, You will love them. Its my favourite Mod to date.

Everywhere on the web people are saying that Eibach did not produce sway bar kits specifically for M5. But, yet BeastPower is selling those bars saying that they will work with m5 (Eibach Front and Rear Anti Sway Bars for the BMW 540i (e39) - also fits the M5 (e39) | BeastPower Motorsports). How come?

Anyone has experience using CNS Performance Sway Bar kit http://www.cnsracing.com/CNS-Racing-...-9942E39M5.htm
thanks

I'm not going to put a kit (made for a 540i) in my M5 just yet. Since H&R didn't make a kit for it, the factory units must not be that bad. I believe that my PSS9 system will eliminate the need for $1 K in powder coated red bars...

Have the same set-up including Bilstein PSS9. Extremly satisfied. And as I track the car (not very often admittedly) I have invested in a BBK.
