Post Oil service light

Had my oil changed at 9300 miles(premature) and had the service light reset at that time. Since then I have put 3500 miles and so far the first green light has not gone out. Does anyone know at what mileage does the first light go out? Thanks in advanced...Louis

The service interval is driven by the amount of gas consumed, not miles. So if you drive the car hard the service lights will advance quicker than if you drive easy. Most people are reporting between 12,000 and 15,000 miles between service intervals.

on my '89 535i the lights were like an odometer every 1800 miles i would lose one. therefore service at 9000 miles. on my current 740 the interval is not as regular, lose a light every 1800-2000 miles. on my 01' carbon black??? it is still sitting in the port. however based on the power and the fun factor i would expect to lose lights faster. it will be an interesting experiment.
