Finally drove an M5!

What a stellar machine, I didn't realize it felt quite so good!

I finally got a few short blasts in behind the wheel of an M5 at the BMW Performance Center in SC last weekend. I have to say I was really impressed. The steering, turn in, and overall fell of the car is just incredible, it felt 'sportier' and cleaner in it's feedback than the stock Z8.

I had been taken out in them many times at different tracks here in SoCal, but never before had I taken the wheel. Now I see what all the fuss is about!

Nica car guys!!

Hi Andrew,

Coming from an owner of TWO z8s, this is a real compliment.

For the utility the M5 delivers (passengers, luggages, etc.) it is truely an amazing machine. Glad you liked it as well.

Thank you.

Wait til you drive a modded one, namely with ACS DFC suspension if you can find one. It is AWESOME... you will be lobbying Schnitzer to make one for the Z8.

Glad you had a blast in the M5. I myself have never been behind the wheel, only taken for rides. The Z8 I was in was piloted by a better driver than the M5, but both blew my socks off. SO when do you take delivery?

Daily driver is an M3smg, which i love.....

and I'm saving for a race car to do some Historic Racing in the future, so no M5 for me, BMWNut.

Hamann7, I have the ACS suspension and Dinan Swaybar set on my Z8, so I know how big an improvement can be made to a car by the right mods. The most interesting part of doing the Z8DE was felling how soft and vague the standard Z8 is. Makes me very happy with all my mods, they really do make a big difference!
