need help from powerchip expert

Well, I'm in the mist of my modification and YES it's a drug....need more....

However, I do have a question for an expert on Powerchip.

The first modification I did was the addition of the Gold 91 Powerchip software upgrade. Since that time I have added the AA CAI, GruppeM CAI, plasma coils, temp relocation, tubi full cat exhaust, and headers to follow.

Do I need to redo my software due to the added modification or is the Gold 91 software an adaptive software? The reason I ask is that I lost some throttle reponse with the addition to the CAI.

Thanks

I don't think PC is adaptive. That's why they ask you to list your mods before they send you a chip software. They 'tune' the chip to your mods.

It's easy enough to call them and ask for sure. Also, they have your base chip on their system, it should be a breeze to redo the chip to optimize your recent mods.

Good luck.

chunpng,

Thanks! That's what I thought, but it was Friday night and no one was at powerchip, so I had to ask the board! I feel better now that I have not fully tapped into my possible power with the CAI. Thanks

Hey Gas:

How are you liking your Tubi Exhaust??

I just got mine but ... I haven't had the time to get it installed!

... Currently I have the Stock Cans with an X-Pipe. It's just okay as far as sound and No Performance difference with X-pipe.

Gra8,

The exhaust goes on Tuesday! The dealer had to order some clamps for the exhaust system. I'll let you know Tuesday.

Well, just got of the phone with Powerchip. Discussed my situation and said that no change is needed.

My first mod was the chip. Since then I added CAI, exhaust, pulley, and plasma coils. Even with all these mods, the original Gold 91 stays true.

There are 5 levels of Dinan software, and with all my mods I should be getting the stage 3 software to optimize my setup. I thought for sure they needed to make adjustments. They said that the fuel to air ratio mapping does not need to be changed. As more air is entered via CAI the program will feed more gas. It makes sense so why are their 5 software programs by dinan? I was hoping to tie in all my mods with a adjusted Powerchip Program to fully utilize my CAI, and exhaust. Oh well.

Oh ya if this is the case why does Powerchip ask what modifications was added to are cars prior to programming?

$$$ of course

But I thought at least the CAI and exhaust should call for a different mapping... I remember that powerchip does costumize the software for each car with different mods... Was I wrong?

Gas;

I am positive that if you called Wayne @ PowerChip and told him

that it would make you feel much better if HE "double-check" the

mapping of HIS software in your Beast ...

I am sure that Wayne would do this without hestitation.

Just out of GP ... I know that I will be doing this "Down the Road."
