How many M owners wash their own cars
I was just curious as to how many M or BMW owners in general wash their own cars . I just purchased my second bmw and my first new one. And i was wondering what materials I.E Soap , Wax, Wheel / Tire gloss . To use and what will fock up the paint or potentially cause problems with the paint . The car is brand new and will be garage kept and i want it looking pristine for as long as possible. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you

I'm the only one that washes the Porsche (Leaf blower & all- thanks for the tips ) However when it comes to a good wax detail I dont trust my own skills for that. The detailer who does it, isn't the new guy at the car wash. References,resume,etc.. have been checked
My daily driver, that I just got also, Im ashamed to say doesnt get the same treatment ..............

You might do a search and check on the "detailing" recommendations that user greg has provided. There's lots of good information there as to products, how-to, etc.

Nice , I have lots of waxes etc . Would you reccomend Armor all ? For the tire gloss? Or something else? Also for a 2003 BMW 530I sport what kind of antifreeze / Oil would you reccomend i had preferences from the dealer but i was wondering what some of you guys would think might be better.

I wash and wax both my beast and the wife's X5. They get wiped down almost everyday and washed once a week. If you use a good detail spray on the finish after you wash it, you won't have to wax it as often. It will look like you always wax your car.
My neighbors think I'm a fanatic, and that is true. The wife is just as bad, as she will vacuum both out daily.
A great place to get car care products and detail tips is www.properautocare.com.
Hope my .02 helps

A good place to visit is http://www.autopia.org/forums/forumd...ne=&forumid=11
It's autopia.net I think. A great detailing site.
I NEVER let any one touch my car, except Erich Lapinski.
Good luck!
BTW:
Erich is a fanatic detailer, beat I've ever seen
Bye 4 now'
