        Post OT: BMW X5 4.4i

Hey guys, I got a chance to drive BMW's first 4X4 (or SAV in BMW speak). I was simply astounded. It was agile, fast and corners incredebly for a car of it's size and weight (it weighs more than 2 tons!). I love the way it looks. It's got a masculine and menacing stance. It's one of those cars if you see it in your rear view mirror, you gotta get out of it's way.

I discovrred that last year when the X5 was first introduced. We went for a test drive and boy was it good. It was rigid fast and felt light like a sedan. You wouldn't say that you were riding in a 4x4, its astonishing!!! I liked it alot and cant wait for the 4.6i (347hp) next year...bring on the ML55

They are great driving for a SUV/SAV. I would consider one to replace my wife's Honda Odyesse if BMW would put a third row seat in it. As it is, why live with a bulky SUV/SAV that has no more room than the 5 series sedan ? It just doesn't make sense. I think BMW wanted on the SUV bandwagon so bad that it didn't think through the reason most people want an SUV, i.e., to haul kids and stuff around. I can get just as many kids and stuff in my M5 as will fit in an X5 ! So what good is the X5 ? Road test show it isn't much of an off road vehicle.
