Exclamation Replacement tire help!

Hello-

I'm in immediate need of a rear Dunlop 8080 tire for my M5. I KNOW that I read somewhere that BMW dealers are required to carry at least one front and rear tire in stock.

Does anyone know where I would have read this? I can't find it in the manual.

Thanks!

I think you might be confusing the tire with the wheel.. I think BMW dealers are obliged to carry a front a nd rear wheel, not tire..

Call TIRERACK and / or Discount tire and see about your replacement.

If all you have is a puncture (not at the edge of the tire or in the sidewall), a patch+plug will keep you rolling indefinitely.

If it's more serious than that, your dealer or a discount tire should be able to locate a replacement, or order one from tirerack within a day or two. Your dealer can give you a loaner car, but for the amount they typically overcharge for tires and balancing, you could probably rent something on your own from enterprise and just wait for discount to get one in.

Just be sure to tell them what a PITA it is to refinish the wheels so they can be careful with them.
