Play on angles, a photo diary from the 2003 Baxter's Historic Races in Portland, OR

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend the Baxter's Historic Races at the Portland International Raceway in Portland, Oregon. Although I was there for only one day, I did not have the opportunity to actually see the historic races, I spent most of my time in the BMW corral in addition to going on the parade lap with my BMW brethrens. I managed to run into FastFwd in addition to a few other M5 owners at this event.

One thing I did have time for was to take pictures. And so for a change I thought I'd try experimenting with a series of angles, close-ups, etc. Some will appear familiar while others will be new.

A blow-by-blow commentary by yours truly.

Z3 badge

Huge tips coming out of a heavily modified Mini Cooper S

"S" badge from the same Mini S.

See if you can guess which car these plates were on.

Nice set of MovIt brakes on this 240 hp M3 powered Z3 1.8

Hartge badge

SIX tailpipes on this 'vette. Same one that appeared last year.

50th anniversary Corvette makes its appearance.

Looking at the insides of the Tubi pipes on a M5

Now here's something interesting that I bet none of you ever noticed. See if you can spot the differences.

European-spec CELIS taillamps

US-spec CELIS taillamps.

M3 badge

Nice set of brakes on a 240(!) HP powered Mini Cooper S.

The new WRX STi made an appearance too.

The license plate says it all (from an E46 M3).

Engine bay of the M3

Interior fisheye shot of my M5.

Custom painted Brembo calipers on a 740i Sport.

M5 badge

Dinan badge

Extreme close-up of M5 rims.

BMW roundel up front.

Angel eyes.

Caged S62. A rehash of a classic shot.

M-badge within.

"D" as in Dinan. On the CAI tubes.

See if you can guess what this is.

Muscular stance of a M3.

M3 rims up close and personal.

The original aluminium gearshifter knob in FastFwd's M5.

M3 side gills.

The M5 rests within.

Coming at us. A mini-beast and a beast.

Blazing HIDs.

A row of "M' beauties making its move.

A series of angled shots.

Shot #1.

Shot #2.

Shot #3.

M5 badge with another beast resting within.

And last but not least, my favorite shot of the day.

Now the pictures loaded properly...

Well, I really like the interior shot as well as the last shot. If you photoshop away the electrical wires in the background, it will be superior.

Hey...

Jason- I had a great time at the show on Saturday, thank you so much for everything! It was great to finally meet you and see your car along with your buddy's car!

I was at the event for around 4 hours and was not bored a single second of it, it was amazing to say the least! I was going to take some time for pictures but got so excited that I didn't get as many as planned. I think that Jason showed you what the show was all about with his amazing pictures. I was using a 35mm camera so my pictures are being developed, I will then scan them and post a few on this thread.

I had the chance to ride in Jason's friends Jet Black 00' M5 on the track which was a blast to say the least, and he was a REALLY nice guy! My friend who was with me has some good shots from inside Jasons M5 on the track when they were behind us and I will post those here also!

Thanks again Jason, your M5 is awesome!
