RMS SC stage III M5. 5,000 miles report

Here's a 5000 mile report on the hyper beast

report breakdown...

Power :- Plenty of power on tap although still on low boost.

Oil consumption :- To be honest i really dont check it much but i would say as not wrose than stock suprizngly.

Tires :- Rear tires are worn which need to be changed.

Problems ? :- The only problem i have faced so far is when the fan came off, ripping off the top part of its cover and going through the bonnet. Bmw's comments was it a was faulty clutch fan and they have encountered a similiar problem with another 00' M5 which they changed under warranty.. mine ? forget it!

Ecounters? :- On a daily basis from anything from 320i's to 996 tts. Result ? should i say

Last comments :- I must say that the car feels alot faster than it really is!! I already had a word with Osh on this and he thinks the car doesn't feel its actual perfoemance due to its ultra smoothness.... I dont know if that is the answer but i can tell you that i wont give it a chance against the Lambo if you had asked me but suprinzgly the lambo couldn't pull away from it in its (lambo) first, second and half way through third with me driving. Boy was i wrong !! And for everyone's information, the lambo pulled away with ease from an SL55, and closely beat a 535bhp 996 TT. So the SC M5 is up there with 100 hp still in hand

Hey Black M5,

Any estimation on what it would run the Quarter Mile.

Tests

Black M5,

Why dont you do some timed runs from 60 kph onwards?
60-200
60-260
240-300
1KM run

Or do like Apples did, timing it from 6500 rpm 2nd to 3rd to 4th to 5th. Great way to show the pulling power of your car, specially with that compressor you have in there.

safe driving

HI ya Blackm5 pls explain a bit more on ur stage III. What does it have? What did u do this time ? and be honest ur 1st gear is useless, so do you start on 2nd? Not to diss your lambo but i would think the m5 with a stage III should atlease give the lambo a run. What tires are u running now? does it provide enough grip? I need to hear some of the great kills you had in baharain(sp?hehe)

A,

Im getting closer and closer to pulling the trigger on the RMS kit but i want to wait till that beast gets up to full power and then check the durability of it.

Black:

Glad to see you are enjoying your M5 once again. That long wait was definately worth it !! Does the M5 run hot in Bahrain, especially with the SC on it? This seems to be a reliable way to get your extra 100+ hp.
