overheating/oil cooler

anybody know of an auxiliary oil cooler for the M5?

does anybody know what the round plastic covers (they look removable) on the fan shroud behind the bumper do?

has anybody done anything to help cooling?

What's the problem?

We run our BMW race engines to 270-280F on really hot days. (100F Plus)

If the temp is below 90F, we'll rarely see anything above 250F

yep, above 90F when i'm running in 3rd gear on the track (e.g. thunderhill or sears point) the oil gets to about 255F and it overloads the cooling system -- if not headed the warning light comes on, computer starts to shut down power, etc.

now that i've figured out where the threshold is, i can short-shift and run some sections in 4th that you'd normally run in 3rd -- and thanks to the M5 torque it doesn't change lap times a bunch, but it's a nuisance
