Poll: 993TTS or 996TT, which one you'd like better

        Hi,

I recently started paying attention to the 911 turbos, and am totally overwhelmed by the 993TTS.

Since sampling Greg's 996TT, I have always thought that it is probably the most beautiful and intoxicating Porsche out thus far. That is until I started checking out the 993TTS. I don't know anyone who owns one so I guess I'll never have a chance for a ride, but from what I read on the net, this is an awesome car.

I'm not looking to buy either one, (my investments in the lottery have yet to pay dividends ) but just curious: Amongst you enthusiasts here on this board, which one you'd like better, and why?

If someone can post some pics of these cars, I'd much appreciate it. Also, as a long-term keeper, is the 996TT much more reliable than the 993TT?

        Thanks for your education.

        CP

TTS- definitely. The S is so exclusive with all the additional model-specific upgrades that it is the ultimate air-cooled 911. The 996TT is common compared to the TTS.

I'd take either without argument though

The 993 Turbo S is one of my dream cars. Talk about ultra rare. I remember when Car and Driver tested it in a nice comparo test

The 993 twin turbo S is a very cool car, and was a very limited edition (only 181 sent to US) It has 424hp,a carbon fiber interior, and special body kit....It represents the final, most powerful, air-cooled Porsche available in the US. They range in price from 150k for a bubble enclosed garage queen, to 90k for a used/driven car. I like the body and aesthetics of the 993 better, but I think a 996tt x-50 would beat it around most any track. Both cars are really desireable but by far, the 993 s is in a different league in terms of rarity and collectability. 993 s will probably hold it's value better than any 996.

My jaw drops when I see a 996TT.
        I've seen dozens.

I get goosebumps when I even think about the Turbo S.
        I've seen 2.

For me, the Turbo S, like the 959, is the Holy Grail of modern Porsches.

There's a 993 turbo S in my area. Only caught a glimpse of those yellow brakes once (its ALWAYS in the garage) but boy was it beautiful.

Pong, are you going to make it to concorso this year? I have seen at least one in the porsche corral each year I have been.

Given the choice, I'll pick 993 TTS all the way, one of my favorites!

        Ted,

I'm gonna be in Canada that weekend, so must pass. Nice family trip planned.

Enjoy the event and lots of pics for me please.

        Thanks.
