DFW Service Recommendation

What recommendations can the group give on DFW service departments? John Roberts and Classic are closest to me. Preferences? Getting ready to go in to squeak about my slipping clutch. Any suggestions?

Neither

I won't use either JR or Classic and I live closest Classic (not all that close) and work walking distance from JR, but I drive to Autobahn in Fort Worth for service.

My short answer is..... go to Classic and ask for Pat Arnold!!! Overall, I found Classic to be the better of the two choices. I've gone to Autobahn and Moritz for a couple of minor issues, but found their locations to be too inconvenient (I live near Royal Lane and the Tollway)

My long answer........
When I moved to Dallas a couple of years ago, I took my car to Classic. In a fairly short period of time, I became fed up with their arrogance and indifference and decided to try John Roberts. At first, I was fairly disappointed JR's knowledge of the accessories and parts that are unique to M5. However, I was extremely impressed by my service advisor's commitment to customer service. John Witt, my service advisor at JR, was since promoted to service manager. If you go see him, he'll definitely go the extra mile to take care of you. If you go to anyone else over there, you're rolling the dice.

About 1 year ago, I was at a BMW meet (at Pappas BBQ on NW Hwy & I-35) and saw a guy installing Dinan software on a 540. I later found out that he was a service rep at Classic. I learned more about my car from talking to this guy in 45 mintues than I had learned during the previous 1.5 years of ownership. Unlike the other service departments, he could talk intelligently about the seemingly random occurences of the SES light, loss of stiff steering in the Sport mode, etc. etc. etc.

I was so impressed with him, that I decided to give him a try. I've been going to Pat religiously for the pass year or so and couldn't imagine letting anyone else touch my car to do as much as change the wiper blades. He combines the best of both worlds..... He's extremely knowledgable AND committed to customer service. If I ever buy another BMW (after seeing the photos of the next 5, this M5 may be my last BMW), I'll probably buy it from Classic........ because of Pat.

At any rate, that's my testimonial. Let us know what you decide.
