Are the driver's sport seats a litttle hard? I went to look at a 03 M5 with 2 tone sport seats and they felt a little to firm and stiff. Now I know this is not a Lexus seat, but I am curious are these seats comfortable in longer drives and do they feel better over time? Thanks.
Both versions are definitely firmer than what you'd find in a Lexus. They're meant to be that way so you wouldn't move around so much when the going gets hairy.
'Rocket is right, the Luxury version is a bit softer leather-wise, not cushion-wise.

Yes, the sport seats are very firm - the kind you sit "on" and not "in." Mine haven't broken-in the way I hoped they would have. It's only a liability on those long one-day-thousand-milers when I'm squirming after 8 hours in the saddle. One thing I've found that helps in that situation is to use completely different preset positions in memory by switching between them every half hour or so to change the pressure points on the bottom of my butt.
I have the Lux interior and I love the seat.. Have yet to do a really long trip so I cannot comment on how I will feel afterwards, but I like the idea of using different memory positions to help ease the butt cheeks.

Chiming in late here. I have the sport seats and I like them. They treat me better on long trips than the seats in my 750il. My wife likes them too, even after one 500 mile trip - and I didn't expect her to like them.
In my experience, firm seats, if shaped right, tend to be better on longer drives than softer seats. The shape of the seat has a lot to do with it too, I'm sure.
However, if you thought the sport seats were too firm on a short trip then the lux is the way to go for you. I'm sure you'll be pleased.
Over the last 5 days I've done well over 1,000 miles - probably the most driving in the shortest amount of time my M5 has ever seen. I LOVE my sport seats. I don't find them too firm - in fact in my experience, the softer the seat, the more fatigue you will feel. Between the multi-way adjustment, multi-position memory and seat heaters - - I don't think you'd ever be sorry with them. I prefer the way they look to the lux seats as well - but that is personal preference.
