I can't say enough about how well the Stoptech's handles the braking duties and still manages to remain fade free even MANY MANY hard stops. The suspension handles the twisties well too. I've managed to create the perfect cruiser for highway and canyon duties.

My Mini S will be my ultimate canyon toy though.

Oh yes, Pong, the SSK makes quick work of those shifting actions too.
Jason,

From the list of your mods it looks like it would be a great canyon/highway car.

However, even with mods, it still takes a lot of work to hang with the Porsches, especially the more modified ones.

I am planning to do a bunch of mods also:

I am exploring the possibility of doing the Kelleners Sport Stage 2 65hp upgrade, ACS DFC suspension, Stoptech or Brembo brakes, and a few other things to make it more competent and fun. However, I don't think it will ever come close to achieving GT3 performance levels-- after all, one is a bahn stormer, the other is a race car disguised for the street.

Both will complement each other well.

amfung,

I will definitely start a new Malibu Run thread shortly. I am waiting for my buddy to finish upgrading his clutch so his monster 996TT will be ready.

I will also try to recruit some GT2's again, but one of them, a member of this board, just traded it in for a Porsche 959 :thumbsup He is waiting to have it federalized.

Stay tuned So Cal folks, another run is being planned!!!

Latest update guys:

So yesterday I decided to buy the ACS DFC suspension. I am hoping to have it installed and ready to go by our next Malibu run.

I think it will be a superior setup to Dinan Stage 3, KW v2, etc., but I guess we will know for sure.

Hamann7:

I am waiting for parts from Dinan ... I really should say ...
I've been waiting now for almost 3 weeks for parts in order to have the Dinan Stage 3 Suspension Installed. Unbelievable!!

I wonder ... Maybe I should cancel ... (Never give a customer this much time to stew and think about if there is something better out there in the marketplace.) and possibly go with the ACS.

I live in Los Angeles ... Adj. BH ... Is CEC doing yours?

M5 run

I'm game! I'm a newbie at this type of social event, but want to do some more leisure with my M5. I hope I don't become a wallflower at this upcoming event...
