The August dates are perfect, see you guys then, track on the 16th sounds good too except I don't want to drive my baby that hard, can cars be rented from one of the driving schools or elseware? /// DG
I am being baraged by a number of Napa hotels and wineries for the September dates. There were plenty of places(wineries) to hold a neat dinner party, but none of the hotels were able to house the entire group(several were large enough but didn't have available space.)
The Monterey Concourse weekend sounds like a blast, but it may be a little late to start the planning for such a busy weekend. My gut feel is that we are dreaming if we think we can get enough rooms for the entire group. I suggest that we try to stay in the Napa area if Monterey doesn't work out.
I will shut down the Napa travel bureau for the September dates and wait for more news before turning them on to the August dates.
I made reservations for Monterey in early Feb every place I tried had a four (4) night minimum and most were sold out for the 16th thru 20th. If you guys find enough rooms for 50+ people during these dates you are truly fortunate.///DG
As soon as I get the positive word from Paul on the track, we will set the wheels in motion for the hotels. I am thinking that we in fact will be staying in the Napa area. It may be necessay to have two hotels with a group this size, but Monerey appears to be booked with other car related events.
We will set up some special wine tours and perhaps some interesting pics of the cars amoungst the grape vines. This is possible at some of the vineyards. I will talk to Motor Trend and see if they have any unique ideas for photo ops in the area as well. If any of you Northern Cal. guys has a special place, let me know.
Greg, since you seem to have an in with Miguirs, could you check to see if they would like to participate? Thanks

Not to mention our M5 events as yet only imagined or not yet imagined. Not to mention the Aquarium, Golf, Carmel, Pt. Lobos, Big Sur, the Beach. Not to mention having the roads filled with cool cars everywhere you look and you are driving one of them. Well, I think I've sold myself, how does everybody else feel? As long as we are not too squeemish on cost we can still have Monterey happen in a grand way for the 1st Annual M5 California Meet.
