Well, I had a few free minutes yesterday and said, "Screw it!" and took a hack saw to the UUC Big Boy cluth stop. I cut off a little under 1/4" of threads and then used a burnisher to clean up the cut edge so that it would thread.
Someone else did this recently as well, and our experiences were similar. With the "jam" nut screwed all the way down and the stop screwed all the way into the car, I still couldn't start the car. **** that interlock switch! I took the nut off and I still couldn't start the car so I cut a tiny bit more of the threads off and screwed the stop all the way down. The car was able to start and the stop DOES reduce clutch travel from what I had before. Of course, since I had NO clutch stop in place, it feels quite different and took a few shifts to get used to. It does feel better but I've lost the adjustability function of the UUC stop because of the necessity of cutting it to get it to work.
If someone does figure out the newer 4-wire magnetic switch that controls the starter interlock and cruise disengage for the clutch, I'd be tempted to buy another UUC stop after installing a defeat switch for the starter interlock function.
Just thought I'd share my experience.
