Need help: Can you go from NAV software V18 straight to V21 ?........

Hi Guys,
Ever since I acquired my 2003 M5 car, I've almost forgotten about my wifes (originally my ride) 2001 540ia sport pack. In discussion, I told her that I upgraded my beast's NAV software up to V21. Her reply, "well, how about my car?" The software in the 540 is the "V18" software. Can I upgrade this NAV software from version 18 and go straight to version 21, or do I need a lower number/version, such as version 20 and then go to V21 ???
Also, will I need a CD key to achieve this goal ?
Thanks for your help and replies.
Robert

You should be able to go from v18 straight to v21. If your wife's 540 has the newer split interface then you have it otherwise you're still at v17.

Thanks Jason, question for you........

By chance, would you happen to have a spare V21 CD disc lying around that you no longer need?
I actually had one mailed to me and I used it to update my M5 car, but like a dummy, I totally forgot to do my wife's car. A member of this board, DARRYL WOO contacted me by PM and asked if he could use it, so I mailed it off to his San Francisco CA address. Now, Im back to square one with the 540, trying to update the NAV software. I forgot Darryl's handle, so I can't reach him, to ask if he can send back to CD disc, once he's done updating his car. Basically Im in limbo because I let the CD go before I was really done with it. Can you assist ?
Thanks Jason.
Robert

Fast 5 and Triflow M5:
I've been out of town all week, sorry, or I would have gotten back to you sooner.

Fast 5, your CD arrived while I was away. I just emailed you my reply, which was I'll send back your CD this Monday after I install it.

BUT! I just realized I have V17, so I need a key and go to V18 first, right?

So I can't really do this until I get the older software first. Can you help? Sorry to be such a pest!

You won't be able to go from v17 to v21. You need to first go to v18 with the key CD and then you'll be able to upgrade to v21.

You can go right to V21 without upgrading to v18 as long as you have the CD key.
