I had a great time today with the folks from bmwm5.com in addition to our special guest, Donnie!
These folks picked me up from SFO airport and I was immediately whisked off to Chinatown for some delicious Dim Sum! Funny thing is that I had been thinking about that on the flight down. I flew first class all the way down from Seattle.
From lunch we headed to Mason St. where Fairmont Hotel was and I immediately got to work. I started taking pictures followed by videotaping with some more picture-taking. I don't have a way to upload my pictures yet but I'll find a way. I brought my special fisheye lenses so you folks will be in for a special treat this time around.
A couple of notes. I did look for the McLaren F1 and the Enzo but neither were anywhere to be found. I was a bit disappointed but at the same time I knew that neither one would be there since they're super-exotics.

However, we did see a "superexotic" Koening SSEGG, supposedly 1 of only 12 made worldwide. This was a monster beast. In addition to this, I spied the very same F50 that was involved with last year's Gumball rally. How did I know this? I looked at the front bumper paint which obviously was repainted compared to the rest of the hood. Those folks that remember the F50 from last year's rally will note that the paint up front was ripped off from all the high speed runs. Anyways, the owners of both the Koening and the F50 were seen taking the bmwM5.com decals off. I guess neither one were big fans of bmwM5.com.
Live and learn, I guess. That was a big surprise for me, seeing all those bmwM5.com decals on most of the cars. Did Gustav work out some kind of a deal with Maxmillion or something? That's what I'm wondering. He'll have to fill us in here later on.
And from here on we all headed to the underground parking lot under the Fairmont hotel in hopes of finding the Enzo and a couple of other exotics. No such luck but we did see a 745i. We bimmerheads took this opportunity to show our opinions about this particular piece of machinery. Perhaps one of the others will post these pictures sooner or later.
Upstairs we went to find Lonman's GT2. Beautiful machinery! Both Lonman and fredcourtot were there in force representing bmwm5.com in their respective Porsches. I guess it's only natural that M5'ers take the evolutionary step in acquiring a 996TT/GT2 post M5 ownership.

I guess this means that I'll be taking this step someday. Maybe with the upcoming 997/998?
And from this point on we did some sightseeing. Then we all headed back to Chunpng's place where I had a special surprise for everyone to see. Stay tuned on this.
Me and Donnie took a brief jaunt down the block in Pong's incredible supercharged Miata! Whooo what a mini-beast!
After everyone took their leave, me and Pong took this chance to go on a 3 hour long run through the twisties, PCH, more twisties, etc. Thrills, hooting, and whooing could be heard from me as I muscled my way through the hills. Chunpng, ever the fearless navigator led the way making sure that I was not led astray. I could not stop giggling the whole time! With a power to weight ratio approaching that of the M5, the supercharged Miata truly is a mini-force not to be reckoned with! I can't wait to try this thing on the M5 drive this Saturday!
Thanks Pong for the fun!
And now, tomorrow is the powerchip/dinner party at Chunpng's.
Pictures to come!
