Goodbye Ole Friend :-( Hello Wild New Satan Beast :-D
Fellas,
I know I said I was gonna keep my Beast, but a deal approached me that I couldn't let pass by. So the bad news is that a Lemans Beast is leaving the board. But the good news is a new 2003 Black on Black X50 996tt 6-speed will be joining.
I will post pictures of the car as soon as I can (Well after I stop driving, which may take a while )
I will be sticking around and contributing still, I couldn't ever leave this community..it's more an addiction than anything else I know...and I will do my best to get the new owner to join the board.
Congrats on the new car . If you do have to move out of the best sport sedan on the market, I cannot think of anything much better then a 996TT X50. One quick tap on the throttle makes all that sorrow of leaving the Beast go away .
Just wanted to add my good wishes, I went the other way, had the turbo before the M5, but last weeked I added a red 360 coupe to my garage, **** makes it hard to pick a car to drive. I know you will love the turbo, enjoy.
Yeah you may have to lower the pace for me, that way I can have a chance to lap everyone around the next driving route!!
Greg,
After taking it out and putting about 150 miles on it today I have come to realize that it will outperform my driving skill like 10 to 1...and that shifting fast in a AWD car is harder than I remember it in my old S4...the tires won't break loose like the M (obviously)...ohh well I will just have to learn again!! Plus the clutch is so like it has seriously no feel to me yet...Again something I need to figure out before I kill the car!!
Dang! Now you're officially my other evil twin! On one side I'm representing the goodness in all that is Jason! And on the other, you're representing all that's evil about our namesake! Just kidding, congratulations on your latest acquistion. It's probably a good thing that you declined getting the MCS otherwise you may have never gotten a chance to get the 996TT!
And now should I take the same path? Won't someone here enlighten me?

Congrats on the new car. The TT is awesome. Tons of fun, whether on the track or just cruising around the city.
A couple of mods that many TT enthusiasts go for are the B&M short shift kit (works great, about $300, eliminates a lot of the stock "slop" and throw length) and an exhaust that is less sewing machine-like. Since the cats and mufflers are all one component, aftermarket exhaust prices are typically in the $3K - $5K range. Ruf is popular, as is Europipe's (www.europipe.be for sound clips). High-quality used ones are typically available on TT forums.
