Z8

Any Z8ers in here? Or am I the only one. The topic says "Z8 forums" but I don't see any Z8 posts.

I have an 03 silver/black. Wonderful car. Even better than the M5 (which is hard to beat)

there are several Z8ers here. myself included.

I dont know if I can 100% agree that the Z8 is "better" than the M5 in absolute terms.

in terms of being more fun for me to drive, yes thats true.

in terms of being beetter as an all around vehicle- its the M5

M5 also has a more comfortable ride, but the Z8 has more comfortable seats

etc.

I consider them great stable mates. As much as I love the Z8, if I could have any 1 car to last me for the rest of time, it would be the M5- throw some snow tires on it and it can do it all

What is "best" is allways subjective. Depends on what one is using the car for.

But this much is true and I know we'll agree: The M5 and the Z8 are both hellava great cars.

I ordered my new M5 today and it'll arrive in about 2 weeks.

Thanks.

There are a few of us that traded back to M5s for various reasons. I loved my Z8 and my garage does not look as good without it, but I do not regret going back to an M5.

yes I am. basically I picked my name here first and then when I got the Z8 I was so excited I wanted a Z8 centric name. Id love to find a way to merge the two, but at this time, its OK. no biggle.

All I can tell you about switching back and forth is 1- Im never selling the Z8. never, never, never. 2- let the M5 go because it wasnt doing its role as our family hauler as well as it could have (newborn, no spare tire!). missed it, picked up a X5 for family hauling purposes and then the Mrs "forced" me to get a replacement M5 because she knew I missed it. I did.

So what's next? A forum for individuals who own Z8s AND M5s? Just kidding, of course. I very much like reading postings from both of you, here, there, and anywhere else you choose to visit.

ME, I agree with you that the Z8 is a forever car. The M5, well, just thinking about it quickens my heartbeat. We're truly fortunate individuals, able as we are to enjoy both...

My wife was also fairly insistent that I buy the M5. I had lusteee after the car from the day I read abt it. Practicality over-ruled the heart and I sold my M3 conv and bought an Audi a6 quattro (you know, for the east coast weather in winter..) and I bought her the X5.

Well within 18 months I had sold the Audi, bought and sold a Tahoe.. and finally got the M5.. partly cos she made me realize that I would never be happy without it..No spare wheel be damned..

I LOVE my car...
