Just found out MY 2003 comes with full maintenance!!

I was just messing around with bmwusa.com and found out that the MY03 get full maintenance. Hey that is not fair. MY03 gets in dash cd, DVD nav, and now full maintenance. I had to pay an extra $500. And the kicker is that MY2003 is less than MY2002 with most dealers willing to go under MSRP!! Also no luxury tax this year. What a bummer. I guess I shouldn't complain, since I have one of the nicest sedans on the block!!:p

Ref Full Maintenance

Jimmy if it’s any consolation, think about this. US owners get an extended warranty and are provided more free maintenance than other locations
Here in Germany we got a major upgrade for MY03, we got one whole year more warranty coverage than last year which was 1yr unlimited mileage. All vehicle maintenance is the owner’s responsibility to include a fee to dispose of used oil. In most cases the US spec M5 is cheaper than what owners pay in other markets.
Hey, maybe BMW is making up for BMWNA’s generous program by charging more everywhere else!!!.

In Dash CD?

As I await my "status 150" car, this is good news! I wasn't aware that it now had in-dash CD... the website still says cassette as well -- does it have both the in-dash CD and the changer?

I took delivery of my US spec M5 on the 21st of last month. It was built 11~12 Feb. It came with a cassette changer behind the Nav screen. Don't know about the US but the option to request a CD in that location for a M5 was not available in the weeks before I took delivery here in Europe.

I don't think MY2003 comes with an in-dash CD player either. It's a little bit confusing what it says on bmwusa.com in the options/standards page:

"Anti-theft AM/FM stereo/cassette/CD audio system with 12 speakers, pre-wired for auxiliary input (including 2 subwoofers), Radio Data System (RDS), Digital Sound Processing (DSP), 6-disc CD changer, and 4-channel FM diversity antenna system"

Doesn't say if the M5 gets one or the other..

Jimmy,

I posted that full maintenance stuff a few weeks ago. Yeah, it's tempting to trade up to an 03, especially I only have an 00.

But.....

That's correct, no in dash CD. It actually works out well for me though....gotta listen to those stupid Board Review tapes for my upcoming exam...
