The eve of a dream....

Folks,

Call me a sentimental old fool if you like, but I'm about 8 hours away from realising a very long dream.

Started with a Ford Anglia 18 years ago, then Ford Fiesta 1.1L, Ford Escort 1.3GL, Ford Orion 1.6 GLSi, BMW 518i, BMW 328i Convertible, BMW 528i......and soon the proud owner of an M5.

Just wanted to share that one with you all - maybe others have had a similar feeling the day before collecting their Beast.

Regards,

Mark

Congratulations, your dreams have come true (mine have only just begun--10 years more). Just 8 excrutiating hours for you. Try to remain calm(yeah, right)-- & don't drive people around you nuts . Maybe take a nap or watch Randy's M5 commercial over and over or take one final drive in the 528i and savor the moment of what life is like before the BEAST. And please, please post pictures for all to see. What color, options, etc. is it?

Maybe by the time you read this, you'll have your dream. Looking at your "vintages", we may be of similar years. My first dream car was an S1 Elan - a dream never realised. My first car was a Sunbeam Talbot 90 Mk II (would do a legit ton but took longer than a super tanker to stop), then a Frogeye Sprite, then, my first new car, an Escort Mexico, then (across the Atlantic) and Opel GT, a VW Scirocco, a Spra, a Turbo Supra, a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 I think it was called a GTO in the UK) and now a C5 Corvette. 8 weeks away from my dream car.
If you're ever in Houston, please look me up.

Mark,

Congratulations!!!! Hopefully you are very close to driving your new M5 as I'm writing this!

Let us know how the delivery and trip home went. I've still got about 6-7 weeks, but time is marching on!

Take care and pictures if you can!!!

Hope the weather stays relatively nice for your cruise back, it's a bummer if it rains, don't suppose BMW make an umbrella that big.
I have also had a long list of motors (too long according to my wife) including Ford Mexico, TR4, 3x Mini cooper's', 2x 2.8i Ford Capri, BMW 325 SE, 3x3.0's' Capri (1 of which is in my garage) 535SE, Pug 205 1.9GTI, 4x4 sierra, E12 528 and now my M3. (plus many more I can't be bothered to remember)
Maybe in a couple? of years when the kids have grown, an M5 will be a reality.
Sleepless night on it's way, just like Christmas used to be!!!!!
AG

Probably too busy driving to post a note! Maybe when he hits the 1,200 mile service, like INVICTO, in about 4 or 5 days!
