Anyone have the B&M short shifter? I am contemplating on that or the Rogue Engineering one. I had the UUC kit for my e46 M3 and it felt sloppy. My friend has a B&M on his 996 and it feels tight and the shifts are precise. I wonder if the short shift made a difference, or are the Porsche's tranny just tighter?

I had the AutoSolutions kit and love it. I think some members here had both the UUC and the Autosolutions SSK and they all preferred the AutoSolution kit...just thought I'll chime in

How did the install of everything go today? I guess you got the AS kit...since you never really specified in your earlier post. What were the other specific items?
How many fingers do you have to use for shifting now?
I had the UUC evosport in my 540i/6 - hated it. Too notchy and that nagging noise. I know that they now have the noise isolation built in, but the stock M5 shifter is close to the UUC in the 540i in shortness and is butter smooth IMHO. Not even tempted to go to a short shifter. But your own preference is what matters most...

I went with the Rogue SSK because it comes with the Weighted selector rod. I haven't installed it yet as No car yet.
But they had a great write up about how, other SSK were too notchy or requird much harder force to shift. The WSR rebalances the equasion so you have a nice short throw, but no extra effort required.
Can't weight to test there theory.
My wife the comedian always says now when I'm in her way, "Go into your office, close the door, and play with your short shifter."

Someone has to stick up for UUC. I have one. It's great. Be sure to get the sealed cartridge bearings. I did give into the hype and got the Rogue weighted selector rod afterwards. It was an improvement, but not a major one over the UUC with just the stock rod. Be advised. It is a ROYAL PITA to change the selector rod. The shifter itself can be done in less than an hour, and I'm not even an average mechanic.
