Dvd Nav System And Nav Tv

I have an 03 M5 on the way with the DVD Nav System. I was wondering if anyone has checked out the NAV TV and DVD player installation with the new DVD system? Will it be easier now?

Does the NAV TV require running the wiring harness into the dash unit or is it already installed to trunk?

i had the same question sbsmith since my 03 Beast is coming mid-april. I don't know the exact answer to your question but from what i can tell, everything hooks up in the trunk. You might do a search for "nav-tv" and it pulls up some VERY helpful installation instructions and tips.

I haven't ordered the unit from NAV-TV yet, but i'm going to soon. We'll have to compare notes and see what happens. I'm still trying to decide whether to do it myself or have a radio shop do it for me. I'm REALLY nervous about prying panels of a $75k car. I may just let a pro do it and give him some of the instructions I've found of the board here, since by all accounts the instructions that come with the Nav-TV are horrible.

Anyway - do a search - there's TONS of good info and not too many threads to sort through.

With some decent instructions it's not bad. I could do it again in half the time.

Here are the instructions I put up.

CJones:

Thanks for the link. But, it looks a little scary. I am not sure that I am ready to tear apart the beast.

Change your avatar! M3 not M5

I'm with you, I'm on the fence about DIY for the NAV-TV. Considering making a trip there in the spring to let them do the nasty...
