Exhaust system

I could use a little help on deciding which exhaust system to put on my 2003 M5. I am thinking about an AC Schnitzer, a TRi-flo or maybe a Remus. I know Remus builds the AC Schnitzer but is a lot less costly. Does anyone know about the Tri-Flo??

TriFlow's are nice and loud...same as Bavarian Autosport's exhaust which happens to be made by TriFlow. Have you seen the previous threads on exhausts with links to the Boston group's exhaust comparison? It's awesome?

Your choice will of course be a matter of personal preference of the sound (and to a lesser extent look) of the system. Dinan, Kelleners and Triflow are fairly loud. I loved the sound of the Kelleners with Supersprint's X-pipe but decided on the Supersprint exhaust with the X-pipe out of respect for my neighbors!

Good luck with your decision. The X-pipe resonator improves the sound and may improve flow as well.

the schnitzer and Remus exhasuts are very mild compared to the B&B. All of them have a tight bass sound as opposed to a more raspy and loud exhaust like the Dinan and Kelleners.

Don't have an aftermarket exhaust on my 03 yet but have had previous experience with supersprint. Personally, this system sounds the most mellow and of course I like their warranty.

Mr Triflow to the rescue...

Hey BG, (didnt just want to call you bald or just god...so its BG)

If you want some info on the BB's let me know...I have them and they just got better. I have had them with and without the xpipe. If you want to know how it sounds...check out www.bbtriflo.com (for the stock sound) and then checkout http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4290841547 (for the xpipe sound...although it just got louder and "shake your butt" rumble too.

PM me if you have specific questions after taking a look at the videos.

It all depends on personal pref as well as the wallet...BB's are probably the least expensive of the exhausts you were talking about...

Bottle neck

If you are hoping for big increases in power with a exhaust change, guess again. From what Vadim from Evosport tells me, the most restricted area in the exhaust system is a little up stream from the mufflers, like the header area. If less restricted headers could be placed, than the exhaust exchange might offer an increase.

Evosport is looking intro headers for our car that do not run $7999. I know I would not be interested unless the cost came WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY down.

X,

I have seen the header thread, but I an waiting to see what Vadim form Evosport is developing for headers for our car. Since he will be working with Wayne at Powerchip the two in combination could be very effective.
