It isnt clear from previous posts. thanks agin for the help- this thread is proving to be one of the more fascinating ones !!! Rodd.

The exhaust, Powerchip ver 1 etc were already on the car, the 20 rw kw was from the headers alone!

I've rambled enough.... Thanks.

Dave-

As luck would have it, we had lousy weather here on Friday. Najeeb (01M5) and Bobby (bmurphy) and I got together at a local speed shop, Motorbahn, so Najeeb could get his Rogue SS installed. We then fed our butt-meters (first step to proper calibration) at a local BBQ joint.

Unfortunately, the rain did not let up, making a good key-swapping cat-and-mouse session impractical. I also had my 16-month old son Jack with me, so lots of WOT driving wasn't going to happen. I opted to take a raincheck on driving Bobby's Miss Emma, so I'll have to report later.

Najeeb, however, did take the wheel for several jaunts, so he may want to report his impressions. He spoke of sharper throttle response, better part-throttle performance, and "pulling harder," but I'll let him elaborate first-hand.

When Bobby and I do get together again, I'll report it here! Sorry for the let-down.

-Dave

Teutonic = Germanic, Very clever anyway.

I don't think that Teuton is correct English. But I don't know if its correct German either.

Exclamation Update

My beast is currently in Columbus having the FK coilovers put on. I should be able to pick her up on Tuesday. I should be able to get a better feel of the new Powerchip at that time and will be able to post my impressions shortly thereafter.

Tony hasn't been able to take out his beast since we installed the Powerchip so he still has to do the "adjustment" period. I'm sure that he will post as soon as he has a good idea of the changes the chip has made.

Sorry for the suspense...I have been out of town.

As Dave mentioned, the weather prohibited the side to side testing (my stock vs. bmurph's) we were planning. Dave will have to do that when he gets a chance.

I did have the pleasure of driving bmurph's Beast. It is an incredible car (Dinan Stage III, Stoptech fronts, Kelleners, Powerchip, Gruppe M CAI, and 100 octane). The engine definitely pulled harder and revved with much more eagerness than my M5 (Kelleners & X-pipe). I was quite impressed to say the least. Unfortunately, I couldn't determine how much of a contribution Powerchip provided, how much CAI provided, and how much 100 octane fuel provided. Because of the weather, all of my driving was part-throttle and the benefits are noticeable in normal, around-town driving. The overall package is strong

01M5,

I think this points out the reason for testing on the dyno between each modification to get more of an exact reading on how these effect the car individually. The Powerchip may be able to tie all of the modifications together so the package is worth more than the individual pieces.

Zman...

You didn't rain on my parade but what you have is the version 1 software. This thread has been discussing Powerchips' new version 2 software (Gold 93 ver.2)

Update

OK... the FK coilovers were installed and tomorrow my SA is taking the beast to a racing shop in Columbus to do the alignment and check the lowering, etc. My SA said he didn't feel comfortable with the dealership doing it. Lucky for me, his brother owns this shop in Columbus and agreed to do it for me!

Anyway, I will either have my baby back late Thursday (1st time I can get up to Columbus) or sometime Saturday (If I can't get it Thursday, TonyS555 will be taking the Mini S up for service drive my baby home).

If it's dry around here this weekend I will take the beast out for a good spirited drive and post impressions of the Ver. 2 Powerchip shortly thereafter. I apologize that it has been taking so long. I don't think Tony has even been able to get his beast out of the garage yet!
