Post Price of aluminum trim parts

Any experience regarding buying a complete aluminum kit to replace the wood kit? How much is the set and how much is installation?
Thanks.

Terrence,

Parts are around $800.00 to over $1000.00 depending on how much the dealer is taking you for???

Labor should only be one hour or so, depending on if the dealer has a minimum charge. Of course, if you are feeling adventuresome, you could try it yourself?? The hardest piece is the one around the NAV screen....

For the money and the quality of these pieces, I would purchase aftermarket and get real aluminum.

Terrence,
I ordered the stock titanium trim from Pacific in Glendale. Their mail order pricing for all parts was $730 plus shipping and sales tax, $800 total. The brake handle trim I got from The BMW Store in Cincinnati for $63.00. They ordered it from EuroBMW since BMWNA failed to include the piece in their database and dealers aren't able to locate it. The BMW Store did a lot of investigation to find this piece. You could order everything from them, probably same price as Pacific plus, you'll save sales tax. Make sure you tell both places you're a member of BMWCCA and you saw their ad in Roundel. Phone numbers...Pacific 800-909-PARTS, The BMW Store 800-582-8247.

Mark,

I agree with you on the integrity of the plastic aluminum trim from BMW.

Do you know who sells aftermarket trim in real aluminum? I saw Bekkers sells carbon fiber trim for M5. Haven't seen aluminum.

Carmen
