Can anyone recommend a good quality car cover for the beast?..........
Hi Guys,
Ii know for a fact that I will from time to time wish to cover my M5 ( for various reasons), when the car is parked in my garage and also when she is in the driveway. So, I need a car cover that is practicle for indoor as well as outdoor use. Can anyone tell me where I can get/find a quality car cover? Web site address and or phone contact number would be appreciated. Thank you.
Robert
Well since you are considering using the cover outside, I would have to suggest the NOAH car cover. It is very strong and heavy so it can stand up to the elements. You can purchase it at your local BMW dealer to my knowledge. Just be careful when puttin git on, make sure your car is clean or else you may end up with scratches from the wind grinding the cover into the dirt particles on the car. Hope this helps.
I have used several car covers over the years and the newer ones have improved in protection for your beast. The one thing I recommend over everything else is to get a custom made cover that fits your car and not a generic version. As mentioned above, you want to be certain that your paint surface is clean when you apply the cover. You should develop a routine of putting the cover on and taking it off, i.e. place on the truck like a sleeping bag folded into thirds and roll forward etc. I think that this is important because sooner or later you will find it necessary to take the cover off in a brisk wind so you need a set routine. Some custom covers will be harder to get on unless you have a routine because they should fit tight. I got my last cover from the following: http://www.bavauto.com
I expect my new M5 soon and yes I will have a cover because keeping cars clean in Germany is a little harder since washing them at home is against the law.
I actually have the NOAH one from BMW...not that big of a deal..it just says BMW right where the roundel would be on the hood. I think if i were buying one now, i would go with the BAV Auto top of the line one...its has everything that NOAH has but a little bit better in a few areas. Although noah is a little bit thicker so it protects just a shy better...its a trade off. Thinner and better in the wind or thicker and bulker but protects just a little better
I use my cover almost everyday. Mine is from www.bigskycar covers.com. I would highly reccomend there covers. Go with the custom fit and chose whaterver cover fits your pocketbook and desired needs. I use mine outside, but rain protection is not the 1st priority.
