Post M3 2001

What would you guys do if you were good friends with the president of your local BMW dealership and you were not on the waiting list the 2001 M3 but wanted one?

I was on 2 waiting lists and I even had a dealer in the Mid-West tell me he could get me in an M3 Coupe by June but I decided I needed 4 doors so I baled on the M3 and went for the big time.

BlackM5,
I've got a feeling that your friend who wants an M3 at sticker is going to do just what he would have had to do had he wanted and M5 at sticker two years ago...wait. Probably not as long, maybe six months or year, but still.

If you are truely good friends, then you can be honest with him. I'm sure with his connections something will turn up. Also, none of us truely knows how our position in the M5 wait played out. We were/are at their mercy and discretion, so most of the time it's who you know.
