Recall for tires - The Unofficial BMW M5 Messageboard (m5board.com)

Has anyone done this yet? Did they replace all the tires with this recall or do they have to inspect it first? Sounds like the sidewalls were damaged by the equipment and if anyone knows what to look for please let me know for I live about 200 miles from a dealership.

You are from Chicago...and 200 miles from a dealer? Are you living in the earth's core?
Just kidding. Remember any BMW can do the inspection/replacement of the tires. I got my recall letter in the mail today since my car falls within the suspect batch. According to the BMW/NA letter, the dealer will inspect the sidewalls to see if they were damaged by the wheel machine in Dingolfing. I replaced my OEM Dunlops with the Michelin Pilots when I got the car...but now Bob Uenaka has my "*****-trap" old tires. BOB: the tires, as you know, did not have any visable damage. Give me a call.

Why would you need to check tires if you replaced the OEM's installed at the factory?
