Question:
As I am within days/weeks of purchasing a 2003 M5, I would like to know if there is going to be a March 03 Build of 2003 M5s for April Delivery. Speaking with my dealer, currently they are taking orders for a Feb 03 build for March delivery, but I'd like to know if they're going to build in March for April delivery. It's extremely important to me, and so I appreciate in advance your help.
Mathew, I have seen a few of your threads with regard to you ordering an M5. Did you order one? If not I am sure time is not on your side so I hope you don't miss the boat - so to speak.
Regards,
T.

Ordered it yesterday for late Feb build, late March/early Apr delivery! I couldn't take it any longer and decided i better not get myself caught in the time cruch, so i pulled the trigger. i would have wished to wait another month, but now that i've done it, i'm so glad that i did. i'm so excited a can barely stand it.
I tell you, I really struggled with the colors. But I decided to go with Carbon Black and the Caramel Lux interior. I was thinking that Tit Silver was more sensible and much more easy to keep clean, etc., but I finally decided to buy what I really wanted and not let my washing cycle determine the color. Once I chose the outside color, the inside was much easier for me, although I thought the silverstone or straight black was awfully nice too. I have a friend that has black with caramel and I thought it was beautiful, so that's what I went with. I don't think I can go wrong with hardly any combination in such a beautiful car though. I threw in the split back seat, park distance and M audio as well. Apparently I'll have the only carbon black BMW period in my town, according to our one-and-only BMW dealership. So that's kind of fun too. Now I just have to decide on a personalized plate. it sure is fun making these "tough" decisions.
Nice choice Mathew, CB/Caramel looks awesome. The M5 looks great in any colour combination but you need to make the final decision and go with your heart. I went though the same dilema back in November and went with LeMans Blue. There is definetly no LMB M5's in my area so it is nice to be unique.

T.
Late in chiming in on this, but congratulations on your wise decision I too struggled with color selection, as the beast looks awesome in any color. In the end I narrowed it down to LMB and Carbon, both high maintenance colors, but what the heck, with a car like this you really have to go with your heart and get the color you LOVE, not necessarily the easiest one to keep clean.
I went with Carbon after having driven both a LMB and a Carbon M5, and thoroughly studying the colors under varying light conditions. Even after that process it was still a tough decision, and a close call. The Caramel interior complements the Carbon very nicely, but I chose to go with Silverstone/Aluminum, as my 540i already has the Burl Walnut/Sand interior.
